Front Porch Revolution

The front porch used to be a hub of activity in many homes. It seems that a lot of people have forgotten about the mighty front porch. In a tiny house, a porch or outdoor covered area is essential. Your indoor house space is limited, so when the temperature is decent the porch is an awesome hangout. The porch basically expands your living area, but without the worry of having to heat it or do anything other than sweep it occasionally.

We love our porch. My dad is a great craftsman and helped us with ours. The poles are hand peeled fir logs from our property.

Check it out:

The tiny cabin, pre-porch around Halloween. Check out the matching chicken cabin!

Porch in progress in the winter time. We used that metal platform on the right as an entrance until the porch was done.
This is our porch as it stands right now.

A nice, outdoor space to relax in.

Rhododendrons are in bloom and our hanging strawberries are growing back.

An awesome addition is our climbing trainer, used to keep our rock climbing muscles in shape in the off season.

Fun, custom mail box made by my dad!

A relaxing brew on the porch after a hard days work is always great!
