36 Pit Fire, Clackams River, Oregon

On September 13, 2014 it is believed that target shooters started a fire that has swollen to over 4,300 acres. A large swath of the Clackamas river valley has been consumed by wildfire.

On 9/20, the wind picked up and sent flames raging over the south fork Clackamas River towards our tiny house.

Aircraft were dropping fire retardant on houses and fire lines to the west of the complex.

After aircraft activity had ceased for the night, we noticed heavy flames dancing on the ridge line. 

The fire grows in intensity due to the heavy east winds. 

Major flare ups occur through out the night.

Sunday 9/21, aircraft water dropping continues.
